Brief:
Simon+Simon was briefed to introduce Lalique’s hotels in Alsace and Bordeaux to key UK media and broaden the brand’s profile in the UK market.
Action:
Simon+Simon has organised several two-day press trips to all of Lalique’s hotels. Firstly, Villa Rene Lalique, located in Alsace is at the heart of Lalique’s crystal creations and Rene Lalique’s former home. In addition, the 6-bedroom boutique hotel has a two-Michelin star restaurant and adjacent property, Chateau Hochberg. Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey, located in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux, is a luxury hotel-restaurant surrounded by the vines that produce the famous sweet wine.
For each trip, Simon+Simon identifies a range of relevant media and influencers from the travel, lifestyle or food & drink industry. The media and influencers are selected to introduce the hotels and their Michelin-starred restaurants to their audience/readers as destinations for the seasoned traveller who is interested in fine dining, wine and fine interiors. Simon+Simon usually attends the press trips and organises all logistics including travel and the activities at location to suit the various story angles.
Results:
All of the Lalique hotels are very popular with media and influencers, leading to extensive media coverage in key national titles such as FT How to Spend It, The Telegraph, The Times or Evening Standard. Magazines such as Forbes (online), Country & Townhouse or Elite Traveller have also visited and featured the hotels.
Besides Lydia Millen, social media influencers @Thatsnotmyage and @Frockmeimfamous have visited the hotels.
